"How does low-cost consumer goods (i.e. shoes and clothing, electronics, etc.) and sweatshop labor affect the U.S. worker (not consumer)? Is this a necessary consequence of free-trade? Or should we try to purchase more U.S. goods as U.S. consumers?"
it really doesn't work out because the labor is cheap and the products are not made here in the states and we are out of jobs so its a big reason why we are in debt. if we continue to try to purchase more u.s. goods as u.s. consumers i feel we would be just contributing to the problems that we face now.

CONSUMER SHEET
people from other countries come to the united states for better employment opportunities because of the poor working conditions there working under in their own country . growing up here in the united states i know i wouldn't be able to work in another country like china or mexico because the difference is pay is crazy. as a laborer in china you would make about 44 cents an hour, mexico 3 dollars a day on top of being mistreated daily. i have had jobs making 10-15 times that in a week and i don't think i would be able to adjust to making 44 cents an hour or 3 dollars a day.
